In the beginning...

In 1987, two friends, Mo and Gerry, had a conversation that sparked an unexpected yet ambitious idea—starting a printing company. With enthusiasm, creativity, and a bit of humor, they pursued their vision. After thoughtful deliberation (and a little help from a thesaurus), they landed on the name Counterfeit Printing—a playful nod to their unique approach, though rest assured, we’ve always operated with integrity and professionalism.

Over time, the business flourished, and after 15 years, Gerry branched out to establish Universal Church Supplies, while Mo continued to lead Counterfeit Printing, ensuring its legacy and commitment to quality service remained strong. Today, our passion for exceptional p
rinting solutions continues to drive everything we do.

Meet: Mo Kowal

A first-generation Canadian of Ukrainian heritage, born and raised in Montreal. Fluent in Ukrainian and English, I also have a strong foundation in French, though it has become less prominent since moving west.
Printing has been my lifelong passion, beginning with my first industry job straight out of high school in Montreal. With over 45 years of hands-on experience, I remain dedicated to helping clients bring their ideas to life through high-quality print solutions.

Beyond the print shop, I channel my creativity into music as a member of the Ukrainian band NOVA MRIA. Printing and music—two defining passions that continue to shape my journey.
